今天要翻譯的是第五專Freedomchild的第一首歌No Man Is An Island~
No Man Is An Island
這句話源自於17世紀的英國詩人John Donne的Meditation XVII中，
查了一下原詩，很驚訝地發現鼎鼎大名的李敖竟然有翻譯這首詩(而且還是在獄中)
於是決定分享他強大的翻譯(絕對不是我自己想撿現成的XD
No man is an island,
entire of itself;
every man is a piece of the continent,
a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less,
as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friend’s or of thine own were:
any man’s death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind,
and, therefore,
never send to know for whom the bells tolls;
it tolls for thee.
沒有人是孤島，
每人都是大陸的一片，
要為本土應卯
那便是一塊土地，

那便是一座莊園，
不論是你的、還是朋友的，
一旦海水沖走，
歐洲就要變小。
任何人的死亡，

喪鐘在為誰敲，
我本茫然不曉，
不為幽明永隔，
它正為你哀悼。

言歸正傳，
總之這句話被解讀成沒有人可以獨自活著，
每個人必定要與其他人有所關連。
